Adopting KIN
A doll adoption project by Glen Calleja and Lori Sauer.
If any of the dolls speak to you, you may apply to adopt them for a limited period of time.
Each doll comes with a background, a story, a baggage, a personality, a voice... Each doll comes from somewhere.
It's time for them to fly the nest.
HISPER
Bestower of reflection.
Hisper bestows the stillness needed to reflect, to see our way forward more clearly and remember the blessings that came before.
GANNY
Able to see the truth.
In a world plagued with deceit our need for truth resides in Ganny who banishes all hokum, phooey, bunk, hogwash and lies.
TALIT
Brings balance in a crisis.
Talit catches tumbling emotions and bruised psyches, restoring the calm needed for balance and health.
WISLAFFER
The leveller.
Wislaffer is ambiguous and possesses the ability to expose our own foolishness or relieve self doubt.
FOUB
Of obscure origin, possibly a variation of Fabretta, the iron forger.
Built solid and strong for a life spent hitting the anvil - her example humbles us all.

ATLAS
A young slave once of royal lineage.
Last sold some centuries ago to a Maltese sea merchant.
He spends his nights outdoors, gazing at the sky, humming ancient songs.
IDA
Her name might mean ‘hardworking’ but she really isn’t.
She has a mellow soul capable of forgiving any wrong and is very generous with her patience.
A listener and a giggler.
LIENI
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
TITUS
This is the man to go to when you need to feel grounded and connected and perhaps want to make peace with a hostile world.
Level headed, intuitive and perceptive.
His super power is his emotional resourcefulness.
He’s got it all together.
MAKOTO
A great walker.
An innovator.
A can-do guy.
He walks to think, to clear his head, to take ideas for a walk.
Makoto has a great way of simplifying complicated problems.
After his divorce, he left his career in cardiac surgery to follow a calling in agriculture.
BABIN, AFFIN, CHUB
Nymphs.
This large group of nymphs inhabit the cracks and crevices of everyday life, bringing joy, lightness and smiles.
PYMIN
Keeper of lost objects.
Objects are never lost, it’s us, the caretakers, who vanish.
SHUM
Trickster or joker.
As a master of levity and the inventor of gags (appreciated or not), Shum is an acquired taste.
LORBANOFF
Charged with the safekeeping of ceremonies.
No role is more important for the preservation of culture, no figure more revered.
We are indebted.
DIICLY
Support in time of distress and illness.
Touch me and I heal, hold me and I thrive.
DIANA
Huntress and protector of remote coves and forest clearings.
Her mother tongue is violence.
Her hearing is keen.
Her mouth, always bloodied.
No animal or child is safe around her.
ASTRO
Astro is now approaching one hundred. Ida’s younger brother.
Blessed with one super eye that can perceive patterns before they emerge into the physical world.
He is one to consult with at the threshold of new risky ventures.
ĠEREMIJA
Jerry to his friends.
A moody type.
He accompanies the dead with soothing song, gives us words when we’re not sure what to say.
CALEB
Leb for short.
Progeny of Laura and Atlas.
Preferred pronouns, she/her but can be fluid.
Fierce protectress of unloved children.
She roams the streets at night looking for the father she never met.
LAURA
Passionate about cooking and baking and spends most of her day in the kitchen or asking Nanna Google all sorts of questions about unusual ingredients and exotic spices.
She is putting together a book of her best recipes to pass on to Caleb.
Some say her name means ‘Victory’.
When she’s around, the air is full of cheer.
